Rene His was a pupil of Jules Lefebre, Tony-Robert-Fleury and Henry Biva. He painted Landscapes and Waterscapes, mainly views of Provence and Algeria. He regularly exhibited in Paris at the Salon des Artists Francais, receiving honourable mention in 1898 and again with a 3rd. class medal in 1900 when he became a member on the occasion of the Exposition Universalle. This charming picture in such tranquill setting shows why he is so collectible.
